I think I have all bases covered.
  • Fuel Level
    Speedo
    Oil pressure
    Tach.
    Water temp.
    voltmeter
    Air/Fuel mixture
    Vacuum
    Clock
The holes at the bottom right are for switches that control:
  • Fuel Pump
    Ignition
    Engine Cooling Fan
    Driving Lights
    Interior Lights
my dash was designed for providing information plus control. well plus I really like the polished aluminum look...haven't been blinded by it yet.. I have a polished steering wheel to match. Just what i like.... 8)

I like the concept of an all wood dash, but do agree it needs a little more balance. How about the badge that originally was on the glove box. I think that might look good just above the warning lights, might give it the balance it needs. Just a thought.

I agree with Steve wood dashes are nice too but yours could use more to balance it out. using the original bezel that was in the center of the dash may help too...buffed up and repainted it may look pretty good. On my dash it is the extra gauges that add the balance...

Nick,

All the gauges are Autometer Phantom Series gauges. Including the clock... ;)

Resurrecting an old thread but I'm new here. I've enjoyed researching the archives. What a load of good information!

Don,

I really like what you did with your dash and have similar plans for my 77. In fact, I plan on making mine look as close to this Ferrari 275 GTS cockpit as possible, with the exception of the radio. I don't plan on having one. http://assets.hemmings.com/uimage/1560925-1600-1067.jpg

I like the carpeted hump and narrow console with gated shifter too. My seats won't have headrests either.

I might even relocate the glove box under the dash itself, similar to the Ferrari. I'm sure it would be an extensive undertaking but that's a challenge. Perhaps a pininfarina badge or a grab bar, similar to my Pontiac GTO, would "balance" it out, although I prefer the left/driver side tilt as well.
