Keeping it sharp - paint, wax, detailing, etc.

hood mat set, insulation

Post by mik »

Thinking about buying hood mat set from Mr Fiat. I have heard good and bad about the insulation pads, any thoughts as to materials to be cautious of, or suggestions as to what I should be looking at?

Keep us posted if you do buy the original looking hood insulation. I've been looking at the same thing, but am not at that stage of my restoration.

I have much to do also, trying to plan ahead. Heard some do not stand up to the heat element, concern is the right kind of material. Don't want to open the hood to find that my heat shield has melted onto my air cleaner cover.

On one of my buddy's cars he has one that was sewn. It is coming apart around the edges. I don't know if it's the same one.

It's the only mat set on Mr.Fiat site, under engine compartment. Look like some material on insulation. Not sure what the material is, will contact to see if I can get the answer
