Top Notch Quality Canvas Top.......?

Post by 77Spider »

OK, i am at the big soft top purchase point. I have seen the catalog versions from Vicks and International and so on. There is a high end place here in LA called Robbins but WAY expensive! My mechanic whom is doing most of my resto on my '77 has a guy in Santa Paula Ca. he says makes great tops and interiors..... I have seen price ranges from $350 - $960.

The lower price of course is I install or pay someone here in LA after I received it some cash to put it on...... I expect this will run me around $600 - $700 no matter what. Unless I go to vinyl. NO! I also see everyone makes a claim as to how good there canvas is. Hmmmmmm?

Anyone have any thoughts? I am really a stickler on quality so if $100 gets me a way better product then so be it.

Thanx, Jeff

I've used World and have been happy with the tops. Use to buy from Robbins also and their tops were good, just a little expensive

I purchased mine from topsonline.com and installed myself in just a few hours. I have been happy with the top but have only had it up a few times in the 4 months since installation. The best part was the price.

Looking at TOPSONLINE....., Good price. And they say all the seams, seals, flaps are to factory specs. Anyone want to weigh in on how easy or difficult it is to put the top on!

Are you in LA?
I like Tonys Tops...they cut them and install it. I had to go back a few months later for a minor adjustment near the door and they happily took care of it.
My next top will have a tinted rear window which KwikTops.com can do and maybe Tonys for that matter.
Tonys is in Mt. Washington.

Hi there,
Has anyone else used Duetto? They seem to be the only one to offer tops in red/burgundy (which is what i am after).
Also does anyone know where to find some instructions on how to fit a soft top yourself (might be suicidal but reading the the prvious posts i might concider doing it!)

Kwiktops.com makes a burgundy and a bright red top with smoked rear window (plexi) if you desire.

Instaling a top is very easy. Save money, do it yourself. Once you did you will be glad. You'll also be saying "wow, that was easy".
