My brother and I have been crazy busy on the 8 &1/2 for the last week, trying to get it ready for the Mirafiori campout. We obviously can't make the whole event (it started Thursday) but we'll be there most of Saturday and all of Sunday.
We did a complete clutch job/motor remove & replace, as well as fixed a handful of nagging things on the car. We both learned a lot, like that grounding the starter makes it spin hard enough to start the car...

That took a long time! We have the single barrel 30mm Weber ICF carb on it. We switched from the Weber 30mm DIC-1, which is a b!tch to keep going... The ICF is much more simple, and more reliable. This car runs so damn good now! 200 miles will be a good test of its capabilities, and our combined talents but if all else fails the AAA card was renewed today

. We've got a hundred test miles on it, and it's pictured here at Home Depot, where we got about four or five trips worth of nuts & bolts/hardware for it... It's a little rough physically, but the rust is very minimal compared to other 850 Spiders...
I hate to admit it, but my bro is a better mechanic than me. I understand all that needs to be done, and generally how it's done, but I'm so damn ham fisted compared to him... If you see us in the car below at the show, come introduce yourself!
