If you haven't noticed, on the front page of the Autozone website is a black spider!
I do have to wonder though...... it seems to be missing the driver's side door lock. So, stolen? They don't carry the door locks? WTH?
Anyway, I guess they are saying that we are all "Smart" and "Safe" travelers! I wonder if that will get me an insurance discount or at least and autozone discount? At least now I can point out this picture the next time the pimple faced kid behind the counter gives me the look and asks, "A What!?!".

They do! I've looked up brake pads, dist cap & rotor etc. I haven't purchased any parts from Autozone for my Spider, but they are available.
Ps. I looked up parts for my '83 Spider.
They do. That is where I got the first set cap/rotor, plugs, etc. for my '83 when bringing the engine back to life... front calipers and pads as well...
I have had pretty good luck with finding parts thru Autozone.Their prices in brakes,alternators,etc... are very competitive.

I'm not busting you, guys; I've purchased parts for my Spider at Big Box auto parts stores, too. But think of where we'd be without Vicks, IAP, Bruce, etc. A principal reason us regular guys can afford these cars is because parts are available from specialty vendors. Goodness knows they're not perfect, but they've sourced and sometimes tooled parts so that we can continue to enjoy these great cars 25 years after the last ones were built. Plus continue to support local and national vintage Fiat clubs.
If we only buy stuff from them that we can't get from AutoZone, they'll eventually go bust. They need the margin from the everyday maintenance items to support the weird stuff in their inventory. So please, guys, add a couple of filters, etc. to your next mail-order purchase, and save the AutoZones and NAPA for coolant and oil. We now rejoin the broadcast already in progress ...
Thats interesting because the spider is popping up everywhere. Back when they started the cash 4 clunkers drive, there was an article in the Pasadena cali, paper about clunkers. The top of the article pictured a very nice Fiat Spider as a clunker. Kind of pissed me off. Now all the car accesories catalogs seem to be using the spider to model some of the accessories. I was surprised at how many now offer custom car covers for it.

to qualify as a clunker I think the vehicle needed to get 18mpg or less. I don't know many "properly" running stock Fiats that fall that low. I would have been peeved, too, lol!
Autozone has some basic maintenance stuff and that's about it. Last month, I ordered a thermostat from Kragen/Schucks/Checker and they sent the wrong part. I ordered one from Autozone hoping to get the part delivered faster than the regular Fiat vendors. It took them two weeks just to fill the order, then another to send it. I learned my lesson quickly. I might have saved 50 cents, but was without my car for weeks instead of days.
Every time I need a part, I thank the vendors that I've used: Autoricambi, Bruces, International Auto, Vicks, and World Upholstery.

I happen to hate Autozone, the one here has been beyond rude so I use O'Reilly's instead. The manager has started cutting me a deal on parts and has discussed using my Fiat as the store's project car, meaning I let them put before and after pictures up with the caption that their parts aided the restoration. They get to decorate their store with pictures of my car, I get better prices on parts. Sounds pretty good to me and they do honor the lifetime warranty so if I choose or need to do redo something later on nothing out of pocket.

I guess it all depends on where you are and who is managing the store. My local O'Reilly's is clueless as is the Auto Zone BUT the Advance Auto store has a lot of what I need and is very friendly.
