I have seen photos on the IAP photo gallery with the VW T bumpers on the rear but I have not seen them on the front.

I had a customer that put a pair on the front about 10 yrs ago and they looked great. I have a set but just haven't gotten around to installing them

Got an email from a guy said the bars bolt on to the large hole in the old shock mount . Have to open up one hole in the bar.
Easy job. Now I have to get some. Flat black or chrome ?

I checked the pics out that FiatColumbia linked and must say that I think T-bars look bloody awful. Totally out of balance. Kind of reminds me of a fermelderhide deformity. Never understood this passion many of you have regards these mini metal and rubber bumpers. They offer almost zero protection and with the Spider body being so thin to begin with.... Well!. But I guess each of us have different taste and that is what makes it all fun.

Didn't Lee Putman of Chi-FLU have those on his last car? Maybe he can confirm this.

I plan on putting a pair in the back also, I'm waiting for the local vw parts store to get the other pair in that I ordered. I only paid like $12.00 for the first pair. They are the early year t-bars. I did have to drill the hole larger and I do have them bolted into the bolt for the bumper shock. what I did was to weld them into a piece of round pipe that fit inside the rubber clamp that went around the old shock. I only used about a 4" piece of pipe right in the front of the t-bar, I will get a better picture of it.
The shiny area is the pipe that I welded the t-bar to. I welded the t-bar to the pipe in the back so it wouldn't be seen.

Do you have a welder? You can make them pretty easy. :P
If not, let me know I'll make you a set. Pm me and we'll discuss it if interested.

They're all over ebay. I just bought a set of four for 25.00 delivered in flat black. Used. I made one yesterday and unless you have a way to easily cut the steel it's a time consumer. They usually sell new for 15-20 per pair in chrome. Aluminum about double that. Do a google for vw t bars . Here's a link for a set of four for 20.00 plus shipping ://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=959807
