New Paint on my Spider
Hey guys,
Just wanted to show you the pictures of my repainted spider. Lots of little rust spots taken care of and added a couple of racing stripes. Here is the finished product. Hope you like.

Wow that looks amazing! Did you have it professionally done? Your car is the first one I think looks really good without the luggage rack. I prefer having it on my car, but yours looks great without it!

Very nice! I also removed the luggage rack from my car when painted. I like the stripes!
Re: New Paint on my Spider
Nice, that's the first spider I have seen with shelby stripes. Looks good.

Re: New Paint on my Spider
Guys,
Thanks for all of the compliments. I think it came out nice and it goes faster too
Nick, the young man who performed all of the body work and paint is a son of a close friend of mine. He went to Mercedes Auto body school and worked for a couple of local body shops. He has since struck out on his own and is doing quite well.
This car actually had a black luggage rack that used sheet metal screws straight thru the hood - sticking out the other side into the trunk area. There was alot of rust around them and I contemplated whether to buy a new hood but he was able to fill, sand and paint. I like it better without the rack.
SloSpider: It cost $1,500 total to get this work done. I have owned this car for 12 years and really haven't put a whole lot of $$ into it.
He had the car for a few weeks and worked his a@* off taking care of all of the rust, etc. It wasn't cheap but it was a top quality job. It was a no-brainer when I got the go ahead from my wife
I hope to install the blade chrome bumpers and lower the car just a smidge.
BTW, anybody decipher the license plate?? No one around here seems to get it but for me, (growing up in a Sicilian family and having 2 uncles work for Fiat in Milan), it's an easy one.

$1500 aint bad! I always thought it would cost way more for mine, plus he did all the prep work and everything. Well worth it!

"Hey, so what's the matter for you?"
If you told me before I saw it that I'd like the stripes I'd a said no way. But they are cool. Great colors too.
You know you really need to do the bumpers before the paint I'd think.
Pretty car, good luck.

Hey. I am local to you in Nashua.
Will your painter work on anyone's car? Does he have a public business?
I am thinking of a paint job in the near future.
thanks
Mark

Re: New Paint on my Spider
Guys,
I believe that he is looking to work on more cars. I will ask him if he is interested. I am not sure of his job status at this time. I know the price he gave me was low because his dad and I have been friends for over 10 years. I'll post later this week after I get a chance to speak with him.

a paint job like that with rust repair would cost $3-$4k in Calif
