1972 trunk lid on a 79

Know if a trunk lid from a 72 124 spider will fit on a 79 spider 2000?
Thanks Tom

Yes but I do not think the hinge springs can be used. To keep the lid open you will need to use the prop rod instead.

My last 82 parts car had an early trunk lid. and it used the prop rod.

Not sure what year my trunk lid came off of; but it had the kick stand and I eliminated it, and reused my old springs on my 80. Works like a charm.

Thanks for the help. I think I might use it on my 79.

bob, do you have a luggage rack on your car?

my springs were fully adjusted out, and the lid would only stay open if it was balanced just right. curious to see what a new lid will do w/out a luggage rack with the same springs.

dreading the alternative if the weight reduction does not work.

No luggage rack, Mike. Have one to sell if anyone needs one? I have the springs set at the third position, mine is balanced perfect. Maybe I got lucky for once. :)
