I have not changed one out but I have removed one. I went to take it off and figured that the frame and the windsheild was a single peice. It's not. The windshield will come right out of the frame so be carefull. Yet, I assume that this is also the way a new one goes in.
Hi,
Thank you for your answers.
Then I have to remove the frame with the windsheild. Lift it up.
But to get the two bolts for the frame I have to remove the dashboard.
Do I have to take away the wiper cover in front of the windsheild ?
When we did mine we didn't need to touch the dashboard. Assuming you don't have to replace the gasket on yours, open the door and look at the top of the door post where the hinges are. There are two bolts on each post that hold the windshield frame onto the car. Undo those bolts and the frame pulls right off the car while you leave the gasket and windshield in place. Then it's a fairly easy task to peal the gasket off the top and the sides of the glass while not disturbing the seal between the bottom of the gasket and the pinch weld on the cowl. Then just slide the new glass down into the gasket, put the sides and top back onto the glass, shoot some sealant into the frame, and slide the frame right back over the whole thing and bolt it down.
Hi.
I can se the bolts an I have to hold the nuts from behind with a spanner or somthing.
The nuts are lose. I hade hope that the nuts where welding in the car.
I can't se the nuts in the top beacuse of the dashboard.
I'l be ready for the Italien meeting and hopefully it will be a lot of Spiders this year.
