Red stamp on heads?
The 78 has 93000 on the odo and as I was working on the distributor I noticed how clean it was under the valve cover. This kind of leads me to believe it was rebuilt at some point or the PO was a fanatic about oil changes. Ther is also a red stamp on each head with the words 131-USA inside a red box. A replacement head? Just curious.

Not a replacement head, come across these from time to time

especially since the stamp is on the cam housing and not the cylinder head

Looks like a USDA meat stamp. are you sure there isn't a D after the US_A?
