Coupe with New Paint, Airhorns and Radiator

Tomorrow the coupe will be back on the dyno for what are hopefully the final runs on the new 2.0L FI engine.

Here are pics of the caoupe right out of the paint shop with fresh paint and its newly chromed bright work, its new custom aluminum radiator, and the new, shorter air horns, installed in the air box. These horns give more than 3X the space over the horns as the first set, and will hopefully get us the great RWHP and torque numbers we got last time, but with the top of the airbox installed!

Today it goes to the alignment shop. Some other, minor adjustments have been made, but about the only thing that is left is the set of 15" silver Rotas Mark will be sending me the first week of January. I intend to run 195/55s on it.

I am the one doing the work and getting the parts for Jeff's Coupe.
The aluminum radiator is a custom made unit. Depending on the size it can be
made as a downflow (like the stock ones) or crossflow (tanks on the sides, like
Jeff's).
I have a crossflow in my Spider which I had made a bit wider for more cooling
area, and we are currently having a stock sized 2000 made for my colleague.

Cost is around $425 depending on size and options, let me know if you are
interested.

Craig - the plan is to have all three at the FFO. The guys from Houston are planning a caravan, and we hope to have a pretty good group of cars in it.

Matt - turns out I hae the one pictured below - minus the plexiglas top I made to watch the air flow inside the box. It is still in pretty good shape, and I have the rubber gaskets that go between the box and the carb tops. The top is easy to make,and this box breathed very well.

This may be a problem since I have a spider, possible reduced hood clearance. Where are the air inlets on that box? 1 or 2?

how do you watch air flow? I know it's possible in LA where the air is colored, but how does in work in Tx?

Texas air contains either singularly or a combination of the following: Cigar smoke, Wiskey vapor, or smoke from all the electric chair executions. Plenty of chances to see the air going into the carbs. If in doubt see thread "Hunting Texas Style"

I took a mason jar, punched holes in the lid, lit a half dozen or so of those Mexican firecracker "snakes" that smoke like the dickens, put the jar in front of the air inlet, and presto - visible air! It was OK to about 3000 rpms, then it was hard to see, but the pattern stayed the same from idle up to the point where I couldn't see it anymore. One and three were better than two and four, with 22mm horns. That's why I did the next box mimicing the FI, and brought the air in from the side.
