Racing Seatbelts?

Thinking of changing my old and deteriorated stock belts and was considering alternatives. Anyone gone this route before who can share some advice/pictures/recommendations/etc.???

the problem with racing belts on the street is that you can't move to reach anything, that's the reason for the enertia reel belts. The racing belts are great for canyon drives though

Check your local police/registration regulations to make sure it's legal.
As ridiculous as it may sound, it is illegal in Australia to wear any sort of racing harness on the road that does not comply with the Australian Design rules' standard. That means that the International FIA racing standard 3" wide webbing, 6-point harnesses that I have to use in my tarmac rally AC coupe are deemed to be not as safe as the standard belts that were fitted to the car in 1968, and should not be used on the road. If the coppers were feeling particularly nasty they could isssue the car with an un-roadworthness violation, but commonsense has prevailed so far.
I agree with what Mark said about harnesses restricting movement - they do, and it can be quite frustrating and time consuming getting into the seat and having to find and connect each of the individual straps into the central quick-release buckle .

Corbeau makes a "Y" style harness that hooks to a retractable reel on the top. I don't have any experience with them, but it's probably what I'm going to go with on my '76. I should be able to bolt the reel to the seat belt bolt hole in the floor board under the back seat.

I've got a Simpson 5 point harness in my 71 for track days. Since my 71 only came with lap belts, that's what I use on the road. I can tell you from first hand experience how restrictive those belts can be. I couldn't even reach the ignition key while I was strapped in!

I have the retractable corbeau racing harness in Ragno and overall they work very well. They are a bit tricky to mount on the passengers side. As I recall, that side needed to be mounted upside down to function properly.
