A little expensive but I like the looks! and like 20 minutes to install the whole set. the 2 big ones looks great as well but didnt get a pic. (I'll try to get one).

Well I expended about a buck of paint thinner and a rag

and about 20 minutes on the whole set rubbing the rings until the black came out.

on the big ones... be careful not to rub the plastic case with the thinner as it will melt it. but there is not problem on the small ones as they are metallic (at least on mine)

I still want to get progress on my fiat light resto and stay under my new little budget. :D

So you didn't take the rings off the gauges or anything - just took the paint off the rings and polished them up, then put the gauges back in? I'm guessing a coat of clear would help keep them shiny for a good long time.

Sounds so simple - and they look great. Looks like I found my next interior project.

Thanks!

FiatColumbia1 they really do look good. I've been thinking about the chrome rings but the only ones I've found are not exactly the same size. they seem thicker with a little different shape that I don't care for. so maybe I'll follow your lead and go with aluminum. I wonder if you are very careful if you could polish them to a shine with a dremel or something?

Yes very very simple, the black paint comes off kind of easy. I actually didnt polish them I kind of like the satin finish from the aluminum.

I thought about protecting them with like clear or something... but im afraid taking into consideration my painting skills it will not looks as clean and neat as now.

I used a dremel many years ago on one gauge, but I was trying to peel the black off... and the aluminum got tons of scratches lets call it "very brushed aluminum". but just for polishing it migh work (those rings are really thin and soft, be careful)... Im just not good at polishing alumimun neither I can't get rid of some sort of black marks when polishing so I end up with uneven finishes... but will continue praticing.

yeah they look great. Not too shiny, more like a well used piece of equipment. I never would have thought of that. too cool!
