Getting on Rotisserie

How did you guys get the spider so high to slide it onto the rotisserie? I'm half way there.

I used ropes and pulleys, and hoisted it from the roof trusses. There's not much weight in a bare shell.

I lifted the front of the car up with one hand while I slid the bumper bracket in, then did the same to the rear.

Mine's made a little differently so I could angle each side of the rotisserie until the bumper brackets were in place but we did have to lift the body a guide everything together.

Yeah, I have four bad discs. But I'm weak. The way the rotisserie is made. I have to have it level apparently. Maybe I should have made it to pivot at the top. I'll just get some bigger cinders. By the way can your mom come over and help?

Boy my welding s_ _ ks!! I started to put the car on the rotisserie and I heard a pop. The welds broke on the rotisserie. My welding is better now since I welded the rotisserie. SO I'm fixing all the welds before I go any further. BY the way. Anyone want their floor pans welded?

Just got it on and it was scary. I didn't want my baby to fall! Hope it holds. I did reinforce all the welds after grinding some down. It's still going to be scary working next to it. I got to get used to the idea of it being on there.

It's seems a bit high to me but good job. Have you turned the car on it's side yet to see how well it works?

I made sure I was able to spin it without hitting the bottom of the jacks. But I didn't make it to high. It does look high though. I'm going to put the bar on the bottom connecting the two sides together today. Then I'm going to work on getting the nut off the front cross member so I can take it off. That's my first project. Welding the cross member to strengthen it.

I guess I could have made it a bit shorter. But only a few inches. I wouldn't want to be to close to the frame.

Brady,

Maybe you can make a "safety" catch from rope using your rafters. Just in case the rotisserie fails. Maybe loop the car in the center with slack rope....
