Spider with VW injection

Any one see this? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Fiat-124 ... 0298655570
Looks like someone crafted a VW Rabbit Injection to a Spider manifold.

Cool Stuff.

I didn't pick up on that. I saw this one, seller says 66K miles or 106K km. But the speedo picture clearly shows the mph scale as the outer, primary scale which leads me to think it is 106K miles. Would the odo on this really be in km?

For sure the car is 106455 km. (or maybe 206455 :P )

As a Canadian version, the outer ring is km, and so is the odometer. Roughly 66,000 miles if truly 106455 km. And although it looks in good condition, that fits. Kind of an oversell - wonder if that approach will work?

That Spider does have a CIS injection system on it, pretty interesting. Those use a lot more plumbing than the L-Jet system that Fiat used as oem. I question the 88,000 production number for 1975 though

i had to pick in on this one , if you look carfully @ the picture you'll see that the the dial of the speedo is in paper! its a printed version of the dail , there are holes cut to mshow the numbers also if there is km/h , m/h , like printed below , ther is usually 2 kinds of grades in this case km/h in white and m/h in yellow

If this spider really looks for real like it does on the picture , then why bother to make a sorry excuse for the milage ? I would be alerted by this , foremore becouse its tampered with probably by the current owner , black printed paper doesnt last long

here you see the difference between a real dial (tach ) and the fake (speedo)

Is he saying that it is a kilometer speedo and he pasted a MPH paper face over it?
Did that year of Spider do away with the red 1/10 mile (kmh) number? He did not cut out the first number on the speedo very well, hard to see the (1) good.

Would make sense to just use the 1/10th scale on the triptic.

That is very cool. I have considered adding a CIS system to my Coupe. CIS is very reliable, simple, not prone to electrical problems and if not quite as efficient as what the electronic system can be its still pretty good with the CIS-E O2 sensor system. The CIS without the O2 sensor is almost a completely a mechanical system which is pretty neat when you look at it.

It would be a pretty big changeover as the pump would have to be added, the CIS pump provides much higher pressure, along with all of the wiring. I would be curious about how the injectors are held in the Fiat manifold. Too bad they didn't use the progressive two throat throttle body VW uses.

All around an interesting changeover.
