I need one of those extensions, not only do I have knee rub but I have the problem of my knee the gear shift and the wheel all in the same place is 1st gear.

Height isn't the problem it's driving style. According to a story I read about fiat factory racers they had a gorilla styled hunch and steered with the bottom of the wheel and threw the car around with wild abandon. Wish I could remember what magazine this was in. I just remember it was some obscure english mag I read in the late 70's that covered the racing and rally scene in europe.

I ran into Lee Putnam at FFO,and he is a big guy ,also.He had used an Alfa wheel of some sort,w/ an adaptor to give him room.I sat in his car and it felt spacious!! I dont know if he is a member here,but maybe some of the ChiFLU guys could get him to post some details.
