Work in progress-Gauges

Post by fiatsaver »

I have replaced the original gauges with ultralite gauges.I started off replacing the original wiring harness with a 8 circuit painless wiring kit. After many hours of tracking wires and testing circuits I am 75% done with the swap.I still need to fabricate some sort of speedo cable and track down a problem in the charging circuit.I'll post some better pics at a later date. Thanks for everyones advice.RayImage

I made the dash piece out of plexiglass(a couple of them)then covered it with black leather-like material. The center section and dash are from a 1983.On the center section I had to weld up some holes,Then covered that, put gauges in, and covered the glove box door.I hope to drive it by spring,of course I said that last fall :( Ray

ray,

looks good, white faced gauges against the black dash. very nice...

suggestion, go get some of those 45 degree angle sleeves to turn the gauges in the center of the dash console toward the driver for better visibility.

i got some from Summit and i really like them for the gauges i put in place of the rheostats
