If you don't know me personally by now, you probably know enough to tell that I am like a kid at Christmas when it comes to Fiat related things.
Well, I just received and installed Mike Bouse's "Michigan Shorter Shifter"
WOW! I love this thing! I was so tired of the old chrome shaft spinning around on me, making FIAT upside/down and twisting the shift boot into a spiral. On top of not having to put up with that anymore, it is the perfect length. Why does such a little car have such a long shift lever?
Installation was a snap. Maybe 5 minutes total. It even came with a set of instructions. I especially like having instructions I get to ignore.
Ron
PS: There's a "thank you" somewhere in this Mike.

The "th" in thing. The "a" in was. The "n" in around. The "k" (sound) in chrome. The "y" in anymore. The "o" in long. The "u" in such.
So: Thanch you.
See?
OK, Thank you was implied.

Re: Some comments on the "Michigan Shorter Shifter"
I got one of the shorter shifters from Whoa Brakes along with a set of the brakes for the front of my LT-1 Spider. The shifter feels wonderful in my wifes, pseudo, my spider). It makes for easy shifts without having that sloppiness encountered with the regular shifter. I have a B&M reverse lockout in the LT-1 Spider. It's an automatic but I wish it were a 5 or even 6 speed.
