Getting ready as soon as it gets above 50 to put my dash back in. When I got the car there was no light, just the spaghetti that lurks under these dashes. Having troublefiguring out how the door lights connect up as well. Courtesy light appears to have 4 connectors? Have Miafiori electrical book but at this point hasnt been much help other than overview. Hate to say it but i need pictures. Any help out there would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Courtesy Lights
I don't have any photos but I can try and explain:
So looking at the back of the courtesy light you should see 3 male electrical terminals. 2 of these are at the switch end and the 3rd is by itself at the very end of the courtesy light bulb. There should be three wires that can connect to the courtesy light assembly. A red/black wire, a white/black wire and a black/violet wire. The red/black wire is "hot all the time" power that originates at fuse 9. The white/black wire is a chassis ground wire that originates at the grounding pod above the ignition switch. A violet/black wire that originates at the door jam switches on both door jams. The critical terminal on the courtesy light is the stand alone terminal on the opposite end of the courtesy light bulb from the switch. The red/black wire must connect to this terminal as it provides + 12v to the light. The violet/black and the white/black wire connect to the remaining 2 terminals at the switch end of the courtesy light assembly. Which of the 2 terminals you put which wire on determines what direction the the stitches bat will point when the light is manually turned on Or what direction the bat will point when the door jam switches turn the light on.
Hope this helps

Re: Courtesy Lights
Thank you very much, starting to make sense. PO had rewired the the door switches and lights. All solid orange vinyl. Now I've just got to find the other two wires. Reaping the benefits of having the dash out. Eager to have it in so the minute it gets warm enough I can go for a drive. Got the car last Sept not running, put in new gas tank, and air box to get it running, drove it 50 ish (speedometer not working) miles. Up on blocks, new floor pans and complete underbody treatment was last summer. And I mean all. My sanity has been repeatedly questioned. Got the timing belt done and new hoses. Water pump appears to be newish, the radiator however has a 1/2" crown. Never ceases to amaze me where some people think they can put a jack. Have restored the dash and console and working my way thru carpet. Want to replace the plush (beyond repair) with loop or German weave. Saw a set for sale by Spider Point, seems a little pricey. Any reccomendations anyone?
Loving every minute of it, but I'm ready to drive.
Thanks again.

Re: Courtesy Lights
I'm no expert, but I've heard German weave looks great. The best job will be a custom job with an independent auto carpet shop, but that will be pricey. Some of the online stuff is pretty good though.
