Can these actually be used on a 79 Spider 2000? My neighbor gave me this one and if it is usable I would like to use it.

Is anyone actually using one of these? I see multiple entries where someone says they are using a 32/36 DGAV, but from what I have read the DGAV is a mirror image of the DFEV. Meaning the throttle linkage is on the wrong side and the choke would face the valve cover if turned 180 degrees to get the throttle on the right side.
Can these actually be used on a 79 Spider 2000? My neighbor gave me this one and if it is usable I would like to use it.

Yes, it can be done, but the main issue is that you have to create a new throttle linkage. I have a 38 DGAS in my '69 with a 2L, and while it works, there are some issues. Originally I just mounted the carb "backwards" (with the float bowel towards the rear) and ran the throttle linkage up towards the front. But, the engine tended to stall when braking on a steep (downwards) hill, presumably because the tilting gas in the float bowl flooded the engine.barnesjtsl wrote:Can these actually be used on a 79 Spider 2000? So now I have the 38 DGAS mounted the normal way with the float bowl in the front and with a home-brew linkage for the throttle. It works, but it may not be worth the effort in the case of your 32/36 DGAV.
