Hi all,
The chrome bumpers on my '74 (with the vertical bumper guards) are set too far off the car for my liking, (apparently this is a 1973 thing, but before the 5mph bumpers came in) They are mounted on tubes (not shocks) and have the 'pin' style mounts on the ends.
Any quick fix bracketry solution to mount them closer to the body? Or do I just cut and re-weld the tubes?

Re: '73-'74 bumpers
There is plastic-type material in the assemblies to absorb crash energy.
I cut and re-welded the tubes. My front bumper is now 3/8" from the nose.
You'll then have to re-work the side mounts. The originals work for this without modification. You may need to switch right-left and mount them backwards (I forget).
