Courtesy Light Panel Loose

Hi Folks,

Need some assistance with my courtesy light panel. It has come lose and doesn't seem to want to pop black in place. Is there a an easy fix for this? I have pics of existing but can't figure out how to post them. It's the metal trim more than the wood. The tab is there put won't hold in place.

I think no one has responded because we're not sure what the issue is. Are there supposed to be metal tabs that hold the trim piece, and they broke off? Can you hold it in place with a small dab of flexible glue, like clear silicone caulk?

The metal trim ring is crimped over the clear plastic light housing. The trim ring does not hold the light in, rather two brass spring tabs on either side of the light. The clear plastic light housing get brittle with heat from the trans, and crack somewhere in the center, then the springs are rendered ineffective. Pull it out and superglue the plastic housing being very careful reinserting it into the upper center console.

AR has a good photo to show what this item looks like and how it mounts.

If you are talking about the metal trapezoid shaped piece that goes around the wood grained part to bend it's tabs over the upper center console would need to be removed.

Thanks for the replies. I was able to use a touch of glue to keep it in place and it seems to be doing the job.
