I don't have a good explanation for you, but I'll do some research since I'm curious too. I do know that not all 32ADFA carbs are equal (same as with all Weber carbs), and the numbers after the main identification mean slightly different versions, often for emission control reasons. So, one version of a 32ADFA might have different float bowl vent fittings, vacuum ports, or slightly different calibrations for jetting and such.

So, if you get another 32ADFA and it's not exactly the same version as your current one, there may be some minor things you'll to do to get it all set up correctly. Nothing major.

The only difference I have found aside from 2 different size shut off solenoids is a difference in emulsion tube sizes. Jet sizes are the same. Weird.

I have 32 adfa's on both my fiats and i spent a bunch of time trying to figure out which is which and what it what. I ended up preparing a 9 page summary of what i found if you are interested.
I just picked up another one for rebuilding as well.
I suspect the little ball check is seized, but i know how to solve that.

Also worth noting that Weber carbs were used by many manufacturers, and this might be true of the 32ADFA. The different versions might be specific setups for other cars, although the basic carb body is the same.

Kind of like Fiat cylinder heads that can have the same casting number but be somewhat different in terms of specifics because they were for different engines (size, Europe vs. USA, emission requirements, performance goals, etc.)

32 adfa 2/100 - 75-76 124 exc. calif
32 adfa - 75-76 124 calif

32 afda 4/100 - 75-76 131 calif
32 adfa 6/100 - 75-76 131 (AT) calif

Be extremely cautious about heating it since base metal and aluminum don't change color until they are molten and then its usually a total loss.

Thanks Diesel, I decided not to heat it. I have made progress using a flat surface and emery cloth. It's taken some time but it's getting pretty close.

Time and patience is what it often takes. I tend to Gorilla things too so your not alone. I use a torque wrench whenever possible to minimize that.

Just to wrap this up, I was able to get the carb body flat enough. It took a few sheets of emery cloth and even more patience but it worked.

Now are you confused? I have data sheets on about 14 versions, but my italian os not that good. I am working to identify the major variances. and in particular to see if i can figure out what jetting will work best with a 2L engine. all these seem like they might be a bit small.

Haha, yes I am sufficiently confused. My Italian is not so good either but my wife's sister has lived in Italy for 25 years so she has helped me translate a few Fiat data sheets.
