ANSA Exhaust installation
Hi everyone. I recently purchased a new ANSA dual tip muffler to replace my rotted out system. I brought it to the exhaust shop to have it installed yesterday, and the tech explained that there was no way to make it fit. He then went on to tell me "it's the wrong part. This one is way too long to fit.". I would like to show him some pictures of the exhaust installed in a car already, but I can't seem to find any online. is there anyone here who has some pictures of an ANSA dual tip exhaust installed on a spider? Specifically some pictures from underneath the car so that it will show him that it's possible.

Re: ANSA Exhaust installation
Well, obviously it will fit, maybe a new muffler shop, or just do it yourself?
The hangers on the ANSA fit the same as the OEM. I did add another hanger somewhere near the front of the muffler though. And yes, the tip does stick out 6 to 8 inches. I'm not home at the moment or would post pics.
I do however live in the north valley if you want to have a look.

On my 83 the Ansa sits pretty well with the original hangers, But the down pipe rubs on the axle. I need a new resonator, From the Converter, May have to bring it to the local muffler shop to make it work. I won't use Midas or Mienekie but one of the custom shops around here.

Re: ANSA Exhaust installation
I've found exhaust systems bought off the shelf almost never fit plug & play.
What a fantastic muffler shop...they don't have a saw and a welder!?
Seriously, just adapt it yourself. It's super easy on these cars. Took us all of two hours to delete the cat and make everything fit.

Re: ANSA Exhaust installation
I recently replaced the aft portion of the exhaust on my 83. New twin Ansa and the pipe up over the rear axle to the converter. Purchased both from AR and it fit perfectly. The Ansa did have an extra metal sleeve on the inside of the pipe that connects to the rest of the exhaust that I had to remove...not sure why it was there. Otherwise easy bolt in job with a couple of tools in less than 1 hr.
Good luck!
