If your black seats are in good shape mechanically, I would consider just getting new upholstery for them and recover them yourself. Pretty easy to do. Most of our major vendors offer kits. Several threads here on how to do it.

You could give the seats to a good auto upholsterer and have the advantage of picking the exact material that you want, and have them completely redone. I used Mark's Auto Upholstery in Foxboro, MA and they did a great job at reasonable cost.

I have a 77 and got replacement front and back from world upholstery in California. They custom make them to order using original patterns. They fit great and is somewhat easy to put on. Just a few nights work. Got them within 3wks of placing the order.
