You got a good deal on that car. I tried to buy that car about 6 months ago and I offered more than $350. The guy told me he'd sell it for way more than I offered. Glad to see someone stole it from him, wish it was me!

Yeah, it was about a year ago. I think I offered something like $700. He said he could sell it for at least $1800. I ended up buying a '77. Still wish I got that one though. I really like the early flat hood & chrome bumper cars. I'm from Sioux Falls South Dakota. I also remember that he was really hard to get ahold of, never answered the phone. Keep us posted on your progress.

Well i was playing around with the 70 yesterday, i took the dizzy cap off and i was like , something is missing but i could not figure it out for a min, i sent beek a photo and asked him, then right after I realized there was no rotor,i felt kinda stupid for asking, anyways i knew there was none in town but i went and ordered a couple, in the mean time i borrowed the one off the 69,
I put new plugs in the engine, got it all straightened out, removed the gas line so that why if the tank was bad nothing would come thru and into the carb, so i just crank it over by the key for a bit, getting oil up and all over, before that i did do it by hand, well i looked down on the floor and there was lots of water by my feet, NOW WHAT , i looked under the car and i could see it came from the back, here all the water came from the exhaust, water was still dripping from the pipe, WOW, i continue to crank a few more turns to see if more water would come out, sure enough, OK it was time for gas, down the carb, not firing, Norte gas, no fire, more ,more
I took the plugs out and addd gas down the plugs, no fire, then i recall that when i did have the cap off,the engine ,i did have the engine at it timing and i had the dizzy out,and recalled that the rotor was pointing to number one, so i got it back into timed, number 4 piston to the top again, looked to see if all the timing marks lined up, removed the dizzy again, put it back it with the rotor pointing to number 4, . Add gas, fired, add gas, fired more, nice i thought, YOUR GOING TO RUN, so i added gas and sure enough it started, but barley ran because I don't have no gas flow, so i added more gas and it started and ran for 3 seconds, then again i repeated, ran longer, but each time it was a shaky run, not smooth, it just needs a steady flow of gas,
I took the sending unit out, OMG, :D , rusty as if itt was sitting on the bottom of the ocean, gas was so stale and old, i pump all the gas out, roughly 8 to ten gals , removed the tank. I was going to get it fixed then decided to just going to replace with all new, i was going put in a electric fuel pump today, but decided to just replace things that are original ,and not change things, even the carb, i was. Going to swap out the intake and carb, but i think i will just keep this all original as it is now, . Today i will pull the dizzy and put new points in and new rotor, cap will be replace when it gets here too,i will run gas from a gas can today to see if i can get it idling / any suggestion ,please say so .
