Being Canadian and all, I just went to the local Canadian Tire store, they sell much more than just tires and bought 2 cup holders that are designed to hang off the window glass.
They fit perfectly on my glove box door, secure and safe...no screws not tape no fabrication, and when I don't need them, I put them away.
Gotta love good old "Crappy" Tire.

Got cup holders off ebay - search boat cup holders, then had to get a 3.75" hole cutter, then had to buy a drill with a 1/2" chuck.
Replaced PO stereo with 4 channel JVC receiver (KD-X330BT), two front speakers in kick panel (use foam backs), have 4 ch amp under shelf. Receiver has USB connector to power/charge/play iPhone.

We need something large enough to hold a beer mounted in the engine bay where we spend all our time.
I worked with an alcoholic who in fact filled his windshield washer reservoir with vodka, had a tube into the car so he could sip as he drove.
He died in a wreck, left behind a beautiful wife and two young kids. The only good news was he didn't hurt anyone else in the process.
While I appreciate a good joke, the beer is best left at home. These cars are more fun when you have your wits about you anyway.

Re: Cup Holders
My dad had a Toyota truck (small 4 cylinder) from around 1990. I think it had a cup holder just like this.

Re: Cup Holders
Don, thanks for your quick reply. I may be contacting your regarding your install. I did have a further question. You have had these since last August. How are they holding up? I ask because I have a plastic cupholder in my daily car that breaks every three years or so. When I checked your ebay link I also saw these stainless steel ones:

I don't think the stainless will look as nice as your color-coordinated ones, but they might hold up better. Thoughts?

Honestly, I don't use them that much, but they seem to be holding up well. I'll know more once I get an entire season of use.SeattleSpider wrote:Don, thanks for your quick reply.
