Re: What a steal
If that is the set-up that was listed in the Parts For Sale, I saw it just a short time after you had responded.
Well done.
Well done.

Re: What a steal
Jim,
I hope you are aware these are Solex PII-6 40mm carburators and not Weber. For a brief period around 1972-73 Weber went on strike and Fiat went to Solex to produce these carbs for Fiat. They are made from cast Zinc in lieu of cast Aluminum and quite a bit heavier and more fragile. These are not to be confused with the well known Solex PII-4 carbs used on early Porsches, available in split shaft and solid shaft versions. The rebuild kits for the PII-6 and PII-4 carbs are different. Here is a link to a supplier of the rebuild kits for the carbs you have: http://www.ebay.com/itm/FIAT-124-SOLEX- ... Ix&vxp=mtr
I have two sets of these carburetors, one for use, and one for parts. There is no manual available and information on them is scarce. Send me an email and I'll send you what I have accumulated. Note, regarding tuning those carbs to your engine. Although the venturies (choke tubes) are removable, I have not found a source for alternate venturies, unless the venturies for the PII-4 carbs will fit. The jets and several other parts are available through that seller on ebay. There is a special tool for setting the float levels, however it is also extremely rare or NLA.
Both the Solex PII-6 and Weber 13/15 series carbs designed for Fiats were originally installed on 1608cc engines and jetted as such. Baseline settings for the idle jets, main jets, and air correctors differs between the Solex and Weber carbs. So going off the IDF tuning post may not get you to where you need to be for jetting and you'll need to play around and purchase multiple jets to get the tuning right.
