Engine Bay Clean Up

I'm in the process of cleaning up my engine bay, inspired by the engine bay thread. I have the cam covers and intake plenum off. I was thinking of polishing them, but they seem to have a lot of noticeable pitts. I will probably just paint them. I noticed on the other thread a lot of hoses seem to be eliminated. Please list any suggestions to clean up the look of the engine bay.

By the way, the car is an 85.

Cleaning the engine bay is simply lots of elbow grease. I use a product called 303 which is excellent for all rubber and plastic finishes. I use a mans dress sock over my hand as an applicator.
