PhotoBucket
I have been complaining bitterly to photobucket support regarding the speed and response time of their site and have received this response:
Pete
"I'm sorry to hear you're having issues! Let's start troubleshooting with the following:
First, please clear out your browser's cache and cookies. You can learn how to do that with this article:
http://support.photobucket.com/hc/en-us ... nd-Cookies
Please make sure your browser is supported and up to date:
http://support.photobucket.com/hc/en-us ... ng-Systems
Then make sure you have Flash installed and that its updated:
http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/ ... layer.html
Also, check to see if Javascript is enabled (Javascript is different from Java):
http://enable-javascript.com/
Add-ons and extensions can also affect your browsing experience. Most add-ons require that you give your permission before they are installed, however, some may be installed automatically: You may want to disable them to see if that solves the problem: http://support.photobucket.com/hc/en-us ... xperience-
Also, you can try an alternate browser to ensure that this isn't a browser-specific issue. Google Chrome is a favorite in our office. It has important web technologies such as Adobe Flash and Java built-in, and updates automatically. You can find it at www.google.com/chrome
Additionally, while working in your album, make sure that you're working out of only one instance (window/tab) or Photobucket - ie, do not open multiple tabs of your album(s) while moving photos, deleting, etc."

Re: PhotoBucket
It's a complete PIA..I'm besieged by ads whenever I get into it. I guess paying for it would eliminate some of that but its really a drag and accessing through mobile (as I always do) is just abysmal.
I get it...pay for it and its better..but I am a once a month user. Not really interested in paying for that level of involvement.

+1. If the free version worked after first using it, I might think about upgrading, but based on the experience with the free version, I wouldn't spend a penny for any type of upgrade and "hope" I get a better product. I only opened an account to upload some pictures to this site, and now I understand why there aren't many pictures posted

Re: PhotoBucket
I use Flickr for hosting the pictures I post here. It's free and I haven't had any problems with performance.

I've been using http://imgur.com/ and it seems to work well with no issues.

Re: PhotoBucket
I'm glad to hear the performance issue with PhotoBucket weren't just mine. I like the suggestion of Flickr and imgur. Will have to try them out.

Re: PhotoBucket
not sure my contributions to the site would be missed ... mostly questions .... but am I not sorta locked in with photo bucket ...if I switched, I am the type that would want to keep my pics on here and another international harvester forum , the thought of having to go back to every picture and "re" image code them all sounds like a hellish task .... and would most likely take more time than waiting on photobucket ... some day when I am rich I will pay .... probably for storage reasons .. at 50 percent of what I am allowed currently... but that has taken years and years .... it only holds pics concerning the fiat or the scout ... I have no other use for it other than that .... Matt

I did NOT pay, and would rather search for a different free site. (Haven't started that yet, but when we find suitable ones, I will update the standard greeting (as long as I can understand and use the new resource properly enough to explain it. ) But anyway, they have received an earful about their site's performance. It is obvious that they are transitioning the company to a fee for service model, and probably for quite proper revenue reasons, but it is unfortunate.
Thanks for the tips on Flickr and imgur, I will check them out. But moving hundreds upon hundreds of pics, ughhh...

Re: PhotoBucket
Photo bucket used to work fairly well, but now I can't get it to do anything. I am glad to see that it just isn't me. I just quit trying to post anything. Not worth the aggregation.

Re: PhotoBucket
It is my belief (or suspicion, actually) that they are trying to extort users into the fee for service model. Not going to work, they have ruined the site and their business. Really too bad.

I bit the bullet and spent the fifteen bucks for an annual subscription. All of my speed issues disappeared. Whattya bet next year it's $19.95
