This weekend is Dad's Weekend at Oregon State University, so I decided to drive the 250 miles in SHELOB (since it would be just me). I originally intended to drive the whole way on local byways, but about 1/3 of the way into the drive realized I was going to arrive later than I wanted to, so I jumped onto the interstate for the final 150 or so miles. The trip has thus far been uneventful, save for a broken muffler strap that I had rewelded this morning at a small, local shop. Point S Wheel and Tire, in Albany, did the quick fix by asking his neighbor (a welder who happened to be working on Saturday) to come over to reweld the bracket. We talked cars in the meantime, and afterwards, when I asked how much, they looked at each other and said, "no charge"! What a great experience!
Now, we'll have to see if that was what caused the shake above 90 mph that I noticed on the way down.

650 miles, 27 mpg, not a hiccup to speak of!
"Wound her up to 110, my speedometer said that I hit top end..." (actually, I think she still had a bit more) - no more shake!

I was there as well...GO BEAVS!! My '77 wouldn't have been much fun with wife and daughter along (not to mention the 600 miles from CA). Wish I could have seen SHELOB and you.Dawgme85 wrote:650 miles, 27 mpg, not a hiccup to speak of!
