1978 124 with disconnected EGR system, removed air pump / tubing. Experiencing coolant seep which appears to be coming from the larger electrical / thermal plug underneath the inlet manifold. Disconnected the two blue / red wires from plug to determine if engine performance is affected. None noticed. Considering disconnecting the other electrical plug which also has two connectors that are "L" shaped as opposed to the other plugs "straight" female connectors and plugging both ports with solid screw in bolts which will eliminate their purpose and stop the leak. Can anyone tell me if disconnecting the electrical wires and plugging the holes will affect performance or cause damage? What do the electrical / thermal plugs do?
Thanks,
Ron in Az.
