Rambo ..thanks for that info I had panned on calling them before ordering ... I have gotten things in the past from them and they are quite helpful in answering questions ..... Matt

kevandandi - when I redid the carpet I put in drain plugs that can be accessed from under the car ... moisture holding jute is gone and with my neighbors wet vac that could suck water thru a brick (grunt grunt) and with dry colorado air I should be fine .... both passenger drain plugs let loose quite a bit of water this morning (yes I caught it) .... if ricambis kit is stainless :idea: I need a new front spoiler ...wiped mine on a steep driveway .... I will trade my water problem for your alternator woes .... thinking of contorting myself under the dash has me groaning already ..... think I will take out passenger seat and just lay flat and my back and have my little tool helpers near by .. Matt

heading to autoparts store now for bypass hose and coolant t ... should be cruising by sunset ... thanks AFRetired ..

FocoDave has told me about a Saturday local car group/meet ... mostly british but all are welcome ... happy that I hopefully will make it this sat

FWIW - I would pull out the passenger seat to replace the heater valve and hoses. It makes the contorting a bit easier. :D

ok that was harder than I thought it would be .... screwy angles with hose clamps turned in the worst clocking possible .... I need to learn some Italian curse words .... but its done ... the bypass part ... going for ride .... Matt

Hey Matt,
Missed your post earlier as I was on business travel in Seattle this week, not checking the forum.
I replaced my heater valve last year.
It is a real pain in the @$# to change, but can be done in an hour or so.
I left my passenger seat installed while doing the job and just went the contortionist's route.
You WILL be using some language while doing this job, so warn all by-standers of impending obscenities!
I used Autoricambi's valve and one of Mark's stainless pipes (the shorter one) to get the right angle for the new valve.
Be careful not to torque the new valve too tightly to your heater core or you could damage the heater core.
After removing the old valve, I snuck up in to there and cleaned the mating surface of the heater core with some steel wool to get things very clean and shiny so as to help guarantee a good seal with the new gasket.
My new valve works fine -- no leaks-- and now my wife doesn't get boiling hot coolant dripping on her feet anymore.

Don't they can be quite graphic and be more like short stories especially the Sicilian ones involving livestock.

More civilized Italians will just ascribe the item giving them grief an affiliation with Satan such as Bestia di Satana or Bottiglia del Diavolo and be done with it.
