DIM DASH LIGHTS

Post by JEEPER »

Has anyone been able to brighten their dash lights. There isn't a replacement lamp that I can find with a higher lumen output. I replaced a few of the lamps and they are no brighter than the originals. I can't read any of the gauges at night. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Try installing Sylvania Zevo 194. Their cost is in ripoff territory but they're brighter than other LED s. They are also tiny enough that they fit in the gauge housing. You can pick them up at Walmart.

+1 on the Sylvania Zevo 194 bulbs. I did mine at the same time that I installed a 95-amp alternator, and my dash brightness is what I would consider ideal.

Noticed the Zevo's in both Walmart and O'Reilly's when I was looking for DRL bulbs for the Jeep GC. Agree with Ari about the pricing. Might want to consider these:

Put them in the Spider 3 years ago, and I'm very happy with them. And about 1/2 the price of the Zevo's....

The Fiat Dimmer control in the full bright position does not allow the existing bulbs to be full bright. If you connect the dimmer control wire together eliminating the dimmer you might be satisfied with the instrument lighting. If you decide to replace the bulbs with LED's do not replace the alternator warning light in the tach with an LED. The alternator needs an incandescent bulb to operate properly.
