Hilarious eBay writeup!

Post by zachmac »

You have to read this seller's description! It is a Hemi that makes 155 hp in a 1200 lb car! Better jump on it!

its possible that the heater broke and he re-routed some of the exhaust into the cabin as a fix. It's a good thing he fixed the interior lighting issue because at least now he could find his weed and roll a good joint.

They did a nice job making the hemi look just like a stock Fiat engine.

My car is over 2000 lbs. I had no idea that removing the bumper got rid of so much weight!

God help me for saying this, but in the fellow's insignificant and very minor defense, totally unwarranted, I have read that the head in the Spider is considered to be "semi-hemispherical", although I don't remember the source. I never see this designation used anywhere, for obvious reasons of the imagery association with MOPAR muscle, etc.

double overhead cams by nature have hemispherical heads, so from a politician's point of view, he is telling the gospel truth. I suspected he filled the body panels, tubes, trunk and tires with hydrogen to get down to 1200#. I guess he had to do something to justify the asking price.

You guys are all forgetting a significant value add in his description. He replaced all seals so it is basically "a new engine with 2000 miles on it". Now I know why he is asking so much!

Told ya it was an entertaining read! I sent him an eBay "question" today asking if he wanted help correcting the gross number of factual errors in his ad. Pretty sure I shouldn't hold my breath waiting for a response. On the other hand, assuming it runs it is a pretty amazing thing to make a Fiat a good driver while knowing absolutely nothing about it.

It looks like he has edited it some so it's no longer a special edition 155hp hemi so maybe he is listening to some feedback? Now about that 1200 lb weight?

And for those who weren't aware that Fiat produced the Dino with a hemi engine - here's an "everything is original" Fiat Dino with that the same hemi found in the Ebay ad that started this thread instead of that pesky Ferrari engine.
