Hooking up Dwell/Tack Meter

Post by Nitrate »

1981. 2000. This has electronic ignition. Is it safe to hook up a dwell/ tack meter ? The coil has a marked plus terminal. I'm assuming red to plus on coil, black to ground but I don't want to screw up the electronics of the ignition system. RB

no .... red goes to the negative side of the coil or the lead that goes to the distributor and the black lead is ground

Spider, Thanks for that. I figured red for positive but I'll give it a try to the negative post. RB

not sure what the dwell setting will tell you with electronic ignition (just plain not smart enough to answer that) but the tach should work ..
