My attemp at bumperless signals
Here's my attempt at bumperless signals, and a first attemp at posting a photo.
The signals are made from solid aluminum with a DOT approved dual element LED light.

A couple more shots...
They mount in the original bumper shock mounts and are wired up directly like the original lights. I have plain ones in the rear, but I am thinking of putting red LEDs in those. Not sure if I'll keep them at this length, or maybe shorten them up a bit.

Thanks Don, I think adding the chin spoiler will complete the look. Hoping to do so before the weather turns!

Re: My attemp at bumperless signals
Very cool. Just make sure they are visible from a side angle.
I had mine in a very similar position for a bit. While making a slow right turn a pedestrian almost walked right into the side of my car. We were both very surprised by the other person's seemingly idiotic actions until she very colorfully explained to me that she "Couldn't #@$&!^@ see no #@$&!^@ turn signals."
Scary to think what could have happened, so I moved them to a more traditional location.

Re: My attemp at bumperless signals
Thanks Joe, and thanks for the warning. The LEDs stick out just a bit, semi-spherical like, but I can see how that could be a bit of an issue. I think I would worry about it more if I were in a more urban environment, but hopefully it won't be an issue up here in the woods.

One fix for that is to do the quick wiring mod to make the side markers flash with the turn signals.joelittel wrote:Very cool. Just make sure they are visible from a side angle.

I've been meaning to look that mod up and add it to my wish list.

From Photo Bucket you select ImageInfo and copy the link to the image that displays in the popup window and then after selecting Img paste the results between the two sets of square brackets:Betis wrote:How do you post pics from your computer?

Very nice, and a nice job on the photo in general. Lighting and composition are great, really makes the car sing.

Here is a thread on how to post pictures directly to the forum:
