Driving around in Jasper, Alberta, Canada yesterday and spotted a red later bumper Spider driving around town. Anyone here?

Been doing the Banff to Jasper to Field / Golden circuit for about a week now. Head back to Calgary for two days tomorrow and head back home Saturday. Also came up to beat the heat of SC. Mountains here have been glorious.

If you've got the time, R, check out Lake Louise

Russ,

Lake Louise was beautiful but full of people. I recall coming here about 10 years ago and there seemed to be about a 1/3 as many people. Literally bumper to bumper. I hope we tourists don't spoil the place.

But we had a pleasant casual drive down the 'old' highway and we're fortunate enough to see 6 bears (4 black and 2 grizzly) and one majestic elk.

We have a few more days here and then head west to Vancouver for a week. We can't wait to have the sea food.

Canada is an incredible place!

Did lake Louise first day and as stated here it was a zoo. Drive over to Yoho and Emerald Lake was just as or more rewarding due to many fewer people. Lake Louise has become the Old Faithful of Banff, hard to get to and very crowded when you get there. Did the ice fields and glaciers, out on the sky walk, etc. but the best has been just enjoying great drives and scenery as well as wildlife. Three bear sightings, one with cubs. Lots of mountain goats, marmots, caribou, and lots of chipmunks that will come eat right out of your hand Whereas the bears will eat your hand! :D

Overall great trip. Sorta like Jackson Hole or Colorado on steroids.

Canada is an incredible place!

Plus you get the benefit of a 25% exchange rate... (helps a tad I suppose with the expensive fuel)

Enjoy your travels lads...

Not sure if you've been to Van before but a couple of things I recommend is the Grouse Mt Skyride...on a clear day and a drive out to Lighthouse park in West Van on the lower road( Marine Drive) and a walk about, only area never logged in the lower mainland. Watch the bikes on this twisty road as it is a favorite with the bike riding crowd.
Want some decent fish and chips, carry on from Light house Park to Horseshoe bay and in the village Troll's still batter their own cod or upgrade to Halibut & make their own chips or used to anyway.

And then there's the drive from Vancouver to Whistler....
But if you're heading south from Banff, go south through the Waterton (Canada)/Glacier(US) National Parks. Incredible scenery.

Heading to Yoho today for a bit of hiking with the family. It's really is amazing to see elk grazing on someones lawn while driving back to town ... after seeing a moose and her calf in a field by the roadside. And the best part is that its a full 25 degrees cooler than in Texas!

If you spot this Spider on the Interstates, blow her a kiss; she's far from home. :(

Haha, Ramzi, if I knew you were coming (I'm in Calgary), I'd have placed my big order and had you carry in the trunk... Mostly kidding.

Enjoy the drive, don't worry about the tourists, bad year so lots of staycations this year.

Drive safe

Just arrived home a few hours ago from Canada. What a great bunch of folks you Canadians are. We walked an average of 6 miles per day and somehow I still managed to put on weight. Must be the Poutine!

Cant wait to go back!

Glad it went well and made it back without drama. When the dollar is where it is, Canada is pretty attractive place to visit....and live.

Hope you found your sea food in Vancouver. I grew up there and it is a pretty remarkable city really, traffic not withstanding.
