Convertible top weatherstrip to Windshield frame
1981, 2000. I am installing a new aftermarket weatherstrip to seal the Top to the Windshield Frame. This seal is sold by the regular Fiat vendors. My question is how to handle the ends. Do you wrap the ends around the top of the wing window and pop rivet it in along with the side window flap to the top frame? Do you trim some bulk off the weatherstrip to slim it down as it turns the corner? What do you trim off, the rubber bulb portion? Or do you just make a diagonal cut, forget the pop riveting and let the top and latches press down on the weatherstrip to seal everything up. I want to prevent any wind leaks as well as water leaks. It looks like the worn out seal was thinned out, wrapped around the corner, and pop riveted but it's so frayed I can't figure out the details. Could someone enlighten me? A photo would be a huge help. Thanks, RB
