Cabin bra, cover?

Post by Texsardo »

Anyone know if someone makes a simple car cover that fits somehow only over front windshield to behind back seat. I have a huge car cover that is a pain in the area to keep putting on every night. Here in north Idaho it goes from sunny to rain overnight. Maybe something with stretch lines or whatever. Just to cover with top down. If not I guess I will need to invent one. Would rather buy one though.

a tonneau cover goes from the base of the windshield and covers the entire interior

If the image doesn't show try the following link: https://goo.gl/photos/CeYmbAei6BzzJAds7

It's made by Covercraft, part number IC2003PT I use it mainly for sun protection when I park my car outside. Not sure how it does with rain (maybe try Scotchguard). I use it often and it works well.

My car came with one installed on a metal frame behind the seats that folds up and down and latches to the windshield. I've heard it referred to as a convertible top. :D (Sorry but I couldn't resist, I do understand the appeal of such a top)

IAP sold me the one I have. It looks similar to Sunnyside pictures. It is great and easier that removing tonneau and latching top. Just slip the tabs under trunk lid and velcro around wipers. Definitely worth the money. Keeps seats cool in direct sun so no scorched legs

Saving the top frame from wear and the top along with upholstery from weathering in the sun would be major benefits over leaving the car out with the top up or down. With something along these lines it would also minimize water running through the rear quarter windows drain channels reducing the chances of rust damage inside the rocker panels where it runs through on its path to the ground. I have been considering similar for when the car has been left outside with the top up to keep bird droppings along with neighborhood cats off the fabric of the top and keep the interior dryer than the top does during a unexpected downpour.
