Replaced the tail lights gaskets on my 81, how tight should they be?

Keeping it sharp - paint, wax, detailing, etc.

Replaced the tail lights gaskets on my 81, how tight should they be?

I replaced the gaskets on my 81 tail lights. How tight do they need to be? Really tight might damage the gaskets. How tight should they really be?

Used rubber sealant on top V joint as gasket not that good there and also sealant on rear bumper shock penetrations.
