Sharp edge Removing Gas Cap
1981. 2000. Relatively new owner, mostly fixing things up, not much drive time until recently. I nicked my finger removing the gas cap today. The perimeter around the gas door, on the inside, has a very sharp sheet metal edge. Is there supposed to be some type of protective edging around the perimeter? RB

You should be able to open the door using a small triangular chrome handle. Are you missing this piece?

Sorry, I misunderstood the original post. You nicked you had twisting the gas cap, not trying to get the door open.
