Re: My Trunk Update
So I was tired of the tired trunk area of my recently acquired 124, so I decided to update it a bit. here is the before pic along with how i did it and the after - let me know what you think.
The before - very dingy and full of sanding dust from the color sanding
I gave it a good scrubing and then saw that the boards were rotten and were not really designed to fill the bottom of the trunk.
I made a template from cardboard, used small pieces to get every nook and cranny, then hot glued them together
All glued up and ready to be traced on to 1/4 inch plywood
time to cut it up
i cut it into two pieces like the original and test fit
Then used the plywood to outline/cut up an old carpet remnant i had - i know its too shaggy, but it was free
then i did the side panels the same way - using left over suede from another car's headliner project- again it was free
i am waiting to mount an amp to the bulkhead then i will cover that with another suede panel
Please chime in with constructive comments, oh i will remove the falcons sticker at some point : )

Re: My Trunk Update
Looks good! I really like the cardboard cutout method and have used it many times. Question - Is the plywood split to facilitate taking out the spare?

Re: My Trunk Update
Yes the only way i could get the new floor in was to split it like the original. the trunk opening and the battery kept me from putting in the plywood as one piece. I did add a support underneath the split to keep them together.
