Need some help!

Post by ga.spyder »

Hey guys.I desperately need some help from you with my ongoing no fire issues.I have a couple active posts here http://fiatspider.com/f15/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=33092
I am afraid that with all the removing and replacement of components that I now have my coil wired wrong! It just doesnt look right to me.My wiring diagrams have confused me even more.It is a 82 f.i. car.Could someone post a pic of their coil or an explanation of their correct wiring?
I currently have the pink from ignition, red from control module, and yellow on my + terminal of the coil. The_ side has my black from condensor, black from control module, and the brown/white from ignition. Also, upon removing my coolant recovery bottle, there is a white wire with a spade terminal connected to nothing! It is coming thru the firewall with the ignition wires. There is the #2 printed on this white wire.
Thanks for any clarification.I am really frustrated :(

I have been searching old posts and found one with a pic.I was wired wrong and the car is running as we speak. The white #22 wire is an 'extra' and isnt connected to anything on the Spider. Now that it is running,I hope I can run down my intermittent issues. Thanks to this site for working...as it has for years!!

Check to see if the fuel pump comes on when you turn the ignition on and move the "pointer" in the AFM a bit. I had an issue where my '80 Fi would start when it was cold but not when it was hot. For some reason, the fuel pump did not want to work when hot. Changed out the pump and all OK.
