Hey all.
So I installed the Pilot Relay Kit (PLHARN3CT) for my High and Low Beams and it was a breeze! All prewired with housings, took maybe an hour. The lights work beautifully now.
Here's the problem . . . : While installing the power lines to the relays from the Alternator (Bosch late model Alt), the large Brown wire in the Green housing (goes to starter) had snapped off the B+ stud on the Alternator and was disconnected. I did not realize this had happened and I tried to start the car - of course it didn't turn over. I installed a new 8AWG ring on the Brown in Green housing wire and reinstalled this wire, the two 'hots' to the light relays, and the black wire from the DS fender that appeared to be installed when I started. All four wires are on the B+ stud on the back of my Alternator. Now It doesn't have enough power to start (at first ticking, then dash lights fade and nothing), and it's drained my battery. Is my wiring wrong? Should either the Black DS fender or the Brown in Green wire be somewhere other that the B+ stud on the Alternator? Please advise . . .
Battery dies - Alternator wired correctly?

Re: Battery dies - Alternator wired correctly?
looks like the alternator is wired right. My guess is the relays are wired wrong. If they are a 5 pin relay then you have 2 trigger pins. One for normally closed and one for normally open. make sure you are on the normally open.
Re: Battery dies - Alternator wired correctly?
Thanks, but the relays came prewired - literally plug n' play. Looks like the attempt to start it when the wire from the Alternator broke off fried the starter relay (the wire may have grounded on something), or just tapped the battery right out. Going to hedge my bets and replace battery, starter relay and voltage regulator on the alternator tomorrow.

you can have all those tested before you buy. take the battery to your local auto parts house. If you have an auto electric place or an alternator place, they can test the alt and regulator.
