Quick question about the AFM gasket

Post by Zaffer »

I sent my AFM of to be rebuilt again as something happened internal of the electronic part last year. I forgot to remove the gasket that goes between the AFM and air box top. Where does one obtain said gasket, or if not obtainable, what material does one use to make one, cork?

I looked at Vicks and Auto Ricambi and didn't see one on either site.

Thanks!

you could use a cereal box for that or you can get paper gasket material from an autoshop

+1

I just had this exact same issue, I damaged the AFM gasket and couldn't find one from the vendors. It is very simple to make one from gasket material, which is available at Auto Zone, Auto Rama, Simpson Quickee Mart, etc. in rolls at a really low price. One can make literally 100's of gaskets from the roll, and it just takes a razor knife and scissors.

I figured that would be the general consensus, but just thought I'd ask anyway.

Thanks for the info!

I have always wondered about rebuilt AFM's: On a rebuilt AFM, do you change out the TF resistive material that the slider rides on for new?
