I am in the market to buy a Fiat Spider or Pinniferina. Azzura (83-83)
I had a 1979 and it was "grigio" green or that smoked grey. And I loved that color.
So my question is. Do I go for the color I love? And wait for that one? Which seems to be very hard to do. Or go for the best car?
I know that's an individual taste. But for those that have been in a similar boat have you liked a certain color, but found a different car and color combo and became in love with the one you had or did you have remorse?
Can you paint a car that is not that original color that color or it's best to keep everything original?

Re: Color or the Car?
trying to find a car in a specific color other than red is really restricting the size of pool you can choose from. You will need to be patient. On the other end, most original paint jobs are shot and need a repaint. If it were me, i would buy a car with a good rust free, straight body as top priority, with mechanics and interior as 2nd and 3rd on the priority list.

Re: Color or the Car?
The Pininfarina Azzurra models (1983-1985) were only offered in a few colors, and I don't grigio was one of them. So, you'd likely have to strike those cars from your list. That said, I'd focus your efforts on finding a car in the best possible condition that you can afford. It's fun tinkering on our cars, but having to fix multiple problems can get expensive. But yeah, that grigio color (I like it with a red interior) sure looks cool.
Good luck with your search, whatever you decide to do.
