Essentially it is a second wire from the battery to the ignition switch. Do a search on the Forum and you will find out all about it, including the fact that if your car is an '82, you already have it installed from the factory.

I am having high beams issues after replacing the steering wheel and steering column with a used one from a donor spider.

The high beams don't come on. They do engage when I flash the high beams and the blue light does come on, but when I flip the high beam lever downward, the beams do not come on.

Any ideas?

Do you know if the headlight bulbs are good. If the blue light is coming on the column switch is working.

the headlight bulbs come on when I pull the lever back, so I assume that the bulbs are good.

Sorry i miss read your 1st post. When you move the lever down and the hi beams do not come on, the blue light does not come on either. Is that correct??? If it is it sounds like you have installed a defective used switch.
