Hi James

Nice job on the engine looks great i was wondering what Throttle Bodys did you get rid of for these ? Webers,
TWM or Jenvey ? what was the difference in the Bodys that made you go for these puppies ? They look cool
i've never seen them before . I noticed on the link or i should say i couldn't see any Idle Adjustment screws
or bleeds some of the Throttle Bodys still have those for tuning .

They don't have any idle screws, not really anyway. The way you balance the throttles is by loosening the couplings in between each of the throttle plates and adjusting according. They do have extra ports on the back if you wanted to install an idle control valve or something similar.

What I had before were Redline Weber 45mm throttle bodies. They were nice, cast, had idle adjusting screws and came with fuel rails. There were a few problems with them though. First off, they were too big for my application and I was worried about drivability. Second, the throttle bodies were not designed to be linked together, so a substantial amount of fabrication would have been necessary to make good reliable linkage.

I could have made them work, but then I found the extrudabodies online and jumped on it.

Thanks James

The Extrudiabodys seem like a good deal i wish i had a chance to play with a set !maybe ill give them a go
myself . Webers werent a bad deal compared to TWM or other TBs out there not a lot to choose from,
someone told me TWM buys there TBs from Weber but i haven't been able to compare .

I think what is cool about these Extrudia Bodys is the look is different and if they function as good as the
other guys for that price its a deal !

Mark

Other Throttle Bodys i've had a chance to be around sounded close to a webers but then again maybe these have
a different tone all together i'm sure you remember Mikuni's had a deep tone and Delortos had a softer one then
webers i really liked the sound of the Mikuni's ! they had a real throaty sound to them .

I do hate to see such a nice engine project go so nice and just short of Mark's beautiful header. Can we start a collection to get one for this project? It is just a crime to see all that fuel and air mixed together with no where to go when it's done. Man how I would love to build up a high output 2 liter Fiat motor

I'm starting to see the possibility of an fs lottery ticket pool! Splitting the powerball prize up for Fiat parts sounds like a noble idea!

hjulenx, I love this setup. Looks awesome. Since you mentioned it, I have a set of 45 Mikuni's that I never installed on my 2002. I ended up swaping in a 13b motor instead. I've been sitting on them 15 years, waiting for a new home. Might be a little big for a Spider. I loved them cause everyone else always had Webers, and they don't make 'em anymore. I never knew they sounded different from Webers. That's cool to know.

Spiderrey, not to go OT, but what is the color of your engine? The heads, block etc. I am somewhat color blind, so not sure if I'm seeing it right. Looks a little goldish, platinum maybe? Love the matching valve covers and headers!!

the block is ford engine grey with a engine clear paint to cover it and make it shine. the valve covers are polished, got those from mark allison. the head was bead blasted clean, then sealed with engine clear paint giving it that light gold color. the headers are also marks headers with the optional ceramic coating polished out to a nice shine. thanx reyy. you saw it pretty good, wouldnt know you were color blind.

Dark and light colors are my worst. Sometimes I just never know what I really see, plus people play jokes on me, so I don't know what I'm seeing sometimes. Thanks for the info.

Only thing I am waiting on now is some vacuum port fittings, I solved some vacuum leak issues and stripped spark plug threads (GAH). The brakes will need to be bleed...then shes on the road! Hopefully Monday or Tuesday.

Nice thing is...even though its taken me quite some time to put this thing together, I could prolly do the conversion in a jiff next time! (Maybe I should get a Coupe just so I can time myself...) OR MAYBE I can do Six Throttles on the GTV6...
