Hello everyone,
Dose any body has the weber 38ADL carb Schematics with all the pages. I found the drawing on the mirafiory site but not with all the pages explaining each number.

Well, I guess nobody has any other drawing of this carb.
Then, can someone tell me what´s the part number 89 in the drawing (given above by Lanciahf) and what´s the procedure to adjust it?

It is a fast idle assembly, it pulls the throttle open via the rod when the fast idle solenoid (connected to it and bolted to the firewall/fenderwall) is open. The throttle position is set by the screw on the top. Do you have a fast idle solenoid, is it connected (to the pipe on the device you noted) and do you know if it works? Most folks just disregard this, put a cap on it.

If you want to set it, warm the engine and depress the button on the fast idle solenoid, then turn the screw on top of this device until the idle reaches 1200 RPM (I think its 1200). Let the button go and the idle will fall back to normal. When the car is in 3rd or 4th and you decelerate the idle speed will stay at the high RPM briefly.

The FIAT 124 Sport Spider 1800 service guide shows the device and describes the procedure. The ADL is essentially the same as the ADF, and I think the legend is even the same.

Thanks brad, I´m just going to disregard it since my fast idle solenoid is gone and the hose exiting the fast idle assembly on the carb is plugged by a screw (Part number 91 on the schematic).
If I don´t use it, can I get rid of it and if so is it going to change anything in the way the carb perform?

My 38ADL runs perfectly well without it.

But yes, there's is a surprising lack of documentation out there on the 38ADL. If anyone has the original schematics and would like to do a high-resolution scan of them (all), or send to me and I will... there's a whole bunch of us who would be very grateful!

When you say you run without it, did you got rid of the fast idle assembly on the carb it self or is it just not connected to anything?

It will run fine without it. All this was for was to keep the idle speed high when decelerating from 3rd and 4th gear. It promoted better burning of excess fuel (carburetors over-deliver on deceleration from high RPM). You know the pops we get on decel - that's where they are from. It was only installed on USA cars and they never really provided the parts to service it when it failed. If it works it isn't bad to have (causes no performance issues at all), but if not it makes no difference in the operation of the carburetor. Most Webers ship with it blocked off to begin with, you have to unblock it (screw or plug) to make it function.

Lanciahf, I´ve read in FLU forum that you found a 55 and 60 idle jet for the weber38adl. Could you tell me whereyou bought those jets?

Do you have a fat idle jet or skinny? You can use an idle jet shared by a DGV weber or a ICT, Compare your idle jets to the links below
